Very dated decor. Wanted to like it but tired like the chef has lost interest. Small iceberg salad, boring bread, over cooked pasta Maybe a place if you love Sinatra and are over70

Lunch: So glad my boyfriend picked this spot. Clean, with a nice ambiance of the black and white photos around the room, Sinatra playing. Super nice and friendly service. Lunch specials are a great deal. $7.99 for pasta and sauce, $7.99 for eggplant parmesan, $7.99 for the philly cheesesteak (which we didn't get but seen on another table, was huge!). Complimentary bread basket with garlic butter. So good we went back for supper. Supper: Another excellent experience. Chicken Palm Bay was excellent. Tender breast of chicken (pounded) sauteed with heart of palms, mushrooms and walnuts in a creamy wine sauce. Very rich and delicious. Included house salad with their house dressing. Eggplant Parmesan and soup of the day, Cauliflower (delicious!).

Food was most excellent. Service was very attentive but not overbearing. All scratch from kitchen. Had Caesar salad and the best anchovies I ever tasted. Not very salty. The bread was weak but that's it. Butter is infused with garlic which was tasty. Recommend the Cajun medley.

Visiting Mom with my wife we decided to go to Pastabilities. Mom had been there a few times and it was close. It was a great meal. Arrived around 5:30 on a Thursday and were seated quickly. Water and bread came almost immediately. Staff was very friendly, quick and made it seem effortless even though there were about 15 tables filled and only 4 staff. Started with fried calamari and it was perfect. I had the pasta fagioli soup and it was very traditional. The bowl of salad they brought the table was enough for of all of us. Classic salad with tomatoes, lettuce, onions and croutons. Both my mother and I had the snapper almondine. Huge proton with a very savory sauce with plenty of almond chips. My wife had the baked manicotti and loved it. Overall it was a great experience.

Everything is made from scratch. Ordered the veal (milk-fed, by the way) scaloppini and was shocked that it was mouthwatering. No crappy canned mushrooms or that Heinz homestyle gravy that restaurants serve and pretend it's homemade. There was actually so much food on the plate, I had leftovers. Which is rare, because I eat more than anyone I know. It was a pleasant surprise to discover this gem. The played Frank Sinatra the whole time too - reminds me of real Italian restaurants in the north and not the Americanized chain versions.

Food was awesome, service outstanding and atmosphere was through back to Frank Sinatra era. You won't be disappointed.

Great food, wonderful waitress and old style goodfellas atmosphere. Everything was super and fresh and cooked extremely well. Being brought up on Boston and NYC Italian food this place was a great find. Ignore the 11 yo rating below, he should have ben left in the room with a bag of fritos, FACT! Don't miss this place, much better than the chains and high priced joints...

We enjoyed our dinner there so much that we had lunch there last week. The restaurant was full of ladies having a Christmas luncheon but our waitress, Deborah from Ireland, handled it with ease and grace. We both had the $7.95 lunch specials. My wife had the eggplant parmesan with angel hair pasta and I had the lasagna. We each had a glass of Montepulciano wine. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal but had to have half of it boxed to go. The lasagna was good, but I personally found it to be too "saucy" and lacking in sufficient noodles for my taste. Had to use the bread to sop up the sauce.

We went to Pastabilities this week while vacationing in the area. We spent the whole week going to overpriced restaurants on the beach and discovered this gem on the last day of our trip. I agree with the previous person regarding a child making a review. Please disregard as this place was fabulous! It was a cozy atmosphere and family oriented. I had the eggplant parm with salad and my husband had pasta as well. The food was great and I would say it was a 9 out of 10. The waitresses were very nice! I definitely recommend this place!

    F. Myers is no culinary Shangrila, but as this was my Gammy's go to Italian, it was fitting for a large family meal to commemorate her funeral. It is pretty good, if you stick to classics. I had a sausage penne in a spicy cream which was good, tried the chicken parm which was good, but the more inventive (Spicy seafood trio which is Fra Diavolo, Stuffed grouper over angel hair aoili) was nothing remarkable. The standard marinara doesnt measure up to what I consider good italian. However, the friendly staff (Classic South Florida; we had a Bostonian and a Staten Island transplant) reasonable prices and old school family Italian feel will serve your purpose well. If your purpose is a hearty Italian meal with minimal frills or creativity.

My wife and I went there for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with the food and service. We will definitely be going back there again!

I found this place on yelp when I was in need of something reasonable. And it is reasonable, but it is not 5 stars. What this placed reminds me of is a midwestern italian restaurant transported from Michigan or maybe Wisconsin and drooped into florida. And if that hit childhood memoirs for you then this place will be great. If you are looking for things more "italian" then you might not be so happy. The service is good and friendly. Add the place defiantly has a set of regulars from what I saw and they all enjoyed things. But the first thing I noticed when I walked in was the lack of a "smell". When I walk into most places that I consider good italian you can smell the spices, the garlic, the basil, what ever coming out of the kitchen and it makes you warm in the belly. This placed didn't have that. What we had was good, not great and I've had better, hence the two stars. But if you are from the midwest I'm sure this place will feel like something back home and it will seem more like 4 starts for you.

I LOVED this restaurant. I was visiting my partner's parents for Christmas and we had been looking for a nice authentic Italian restaurant. I had a hunch that this would be the place and it was. The staff here was very friendly to the point that they made you feel as though you were one of the family. The service was excellent....They also create whatever type of dish you desire that may not be on the menu. The setting is pretty casual but can be intimate. There are also a few tables and palm plants out front for those who like to dine outdoors. The food was just simply fantastic and whenever I visit Fort Myers I will be sure to go back to Pastabilities!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
